You can never have enough celebrations in your life.
Celebrations make us happy. Happiness is a positive emotion that helps us be more successful in our endeavors. Research tells us intelligence, creativity, and energy rise when we are happy.
Simple celebrations help us relive what we are celebrating, making us happy again!
How can you add more celebrations to your life? Celebrate the small steps you are taking toward larger goals.
Too often, we work all day on a project. Then at the end of the day, we question if we did enough.
I’ve taken on the task of cleaning out my bedroom closet. I spent most of the day sorting, bagging, and attempting to be ruthless. Four bags of clothes and an empty drawer later, I looked at my closet thinking, “I have so much more to do.”
I should have been celebrating!
Celebrating the small steps is recognition of taking a step. So often, we don't take any steps. (Procrastination, anyone?) Many times we just give up.
Use celebrations to keep you going.
If you take a step toward a goal, consider that step a win. Every win deserves a celebration.
Celebrations pep you up for the next step. You know another celebration will be coming soon.
Small wins can be hard to spot, but they are as important as big wins. So plan small steps. Then your small wins will be easier to recognize.
Keep a list of celebration ideas handy for all your wins. Start celebrating more!

It’s good to share your wins with others. You will be boosting your friends’ happiness if they get to celebrate with you.
I’m grateful to spend time around children, such as my granddaughters, and the children at schools where I volunteer. Children celebrate all the small wins. Spend some time around a two-year-old. They clap and smile at the smallest achievement again and again.
